Sunday Letter loose leaf Peach Paradise tea, 3oz bag

The Cup You Pour for Someone Who Isn't in the Room Yet

There is a particular kind of Sunday I've come to protect: kettle on, a blank card in front of me, and someone far away who is about to hear from me whether they were expecting it or not. It started as a habit years ago, before GiaNina was even an idea — I'd sit down on Sunday afternoons and write to whoever had been on my mind that week. Not a text. An actual letter, slow enough that I had to think about what I meant before I said it.

I didn't set out to name a tea after that habit, but when we were developing our Peach Paradise blend, the name arrived almost on its own. Sunday Letter felt right the moment I said it out loud. It's a bright, unhurried cup — soft peach, a little honeyed, nothing sharp about it — and it turns out that's exactly the kind of tea that wants to be sipped slowly while you're figuring out how to tell someone you miss them.

Connection doesn't always announce itself. Most of the time it's small and a little inconvenient — the ten minutes you weren't going to spend on a letter, the phone call you almost let go to voicemail, the cup you pour for someone who isn't even in the room yet but will be soon. Gia and I have learned this one the hard way this year, building GiaNina together across an ocean instead of across a kitchen table. Every product we've launched, every decision about what this brand should feel like — it's still both of us, even when it's only my name on the page today. Distance changes the logistics of a partnership. It doesn't touch what the partnership is built on.

I think that's why the idea of "belonging comes before becoming" has stuck with me so hard this year. You don't earn your place in someone's life by finally showing up polished, finished, arrived. You belong first — messy, unfinished, mid-letter — and the becoming happens inside that belonging, not before it. The friend who gets your unedited Sunday note knows you better than the one who only sees your highlight reel.

So if you're the kind of person who still believes a cup of tea can travel further than the room you're sitting in — steep a pot of Sunday Letter, write the thing you've been meaning to say, and send it. Hospitality doesn't require a table. Sometimes it's just love, expressed through action, mailed to someone who needed to hear from you today.

That's really the whole reason GiaNina exists — not to sell you a cup, but to give you a small reason to slow down and reach toward the people who matter. Choose to be kind. Choose to be grateful. Choose to be happy.
